Managing Your Time Better as An Entrepreneur

Managing Your Time Better as An Entrepreneur

Some thoughts around managing your time:

Are you managing your time effectively? You must know by now that I spent a good couple of years in boarding school. If you had the privilege as I did, you will know that your time is managed by a bell, a siren or even an alarm. The siren goes off every time you need to eat, sleep or study. I have no doubt that the years of punctuality in boarding school made me very disciplined with my time and time management.

To this very day, I am punctual for every engagement that I must attend. I really feel that it is a sign of disrespect when someone arrives late without a valid excuse. Interestingly enough COVID has forced people to be more punctual. In a face-to-face meeting, 5 minutes is still acceptable as traffic, parking and elevators can easily make you late. On a Zoom or teams meeting one minute late is not acceptable.

I have missed a few meetings in my life and all of them have been through a lack of planning. A lack of planning often leads to people being late; therefore, it is of utmost importance that you plan your day, week and month to the very last minute. Things can still go wrong but in general, a well-planned week is a punctual week. Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Show your clients, family, friends and colleagues the necessary respect and be on time!
